The four kinds of "free"
When a wedding photo app says "free", it's almost always one of these:
- Free forever, but watermarked / branded. Your guests see "Powered by [App]" on every gallery. Fine for hobby use; not for a studio selling a premium service.
- Free storage cap. Free up to, say, a few hundred photos or a few GB — then you must upgrade. An Indian wedding is 3,000–10,000 photos, so the free tier usually can't hold one event.

What "free" should still include for a wedding
Whatever you choose, a free option is only worth it for a real studio if it still gives the family a professional experience:
- No third-party branding on the guest gallery — your studio name, not the app's.
- Enough capacity for one real wedding — thousands of photos, hundreds of guests.
- AI face matching so each guest sees their own photos, not all 5,000.
- WhatsApp delivery so the family actually receives the photos where they live.
- India-region storage so downloads are fast on mobile data.
Most "free forever" tiers fail two or three of these. A free first event passes all of them, because it's the real paid product — just free for your first wedding.
